Do you need paper shredding services carried out directly at your office?
Is there even such a service that brings secure shredding to you?
The answer is yes, it’s called mobile shredding or on-site shredding. Instead of sending your confidential documents to a secure facility for destruction, a shredding truck comes to your premises and takes care of it on the spot.
This guide will walk you through:
✅ What mobile shredding is

Mobile shredding, also called on-site shredding, is a secure document destruction service carried out right at your premises.
Instead of transporting sensitive paperwork to an off-site facility for destruction, a specialist shredding truck equipped with industrial grade shredders come directly to your location.
This approach offers convenience by bringing the shredding process directly to you. It’s an ideal option for organisations that manage confidential documents and require immediate proof of secure destruction.
👉 So, how does it actually work? Let’s break it down step by step:
1. Book your service
Get a quote and choose a one‑off visit or a scheduled plan.
2. Receive secure bins
Locked consoles or bins are supplied for your confidential paper.
3. Fill
Confidential documents are placed into the secure locked consoles by your staff for safe keeping.
4. Truck arrives on site
Shred-it’s Customer Service Representative will identify themselves to your designated contact.Console/bags are scanned using our hand held device and documents are removed from the locked consoles and transported securely to the on-site document destruction truck.
5. Certificate of destruction
When the collection of materials is complete, our Customer Service Representative will obtain a signature using the hand held device.
6. On‑truck shredding
The Customer Service Representative will then return to the vehicle where the material is loaded into the shredding compartment behind a locked security screen (ensuring no material escapes and allowing you to witness the destruction). The material is then placed into the hopper to be destroyed. Shred-it will then depart the location.
7. Recycling
All shredded paper is bailed and transported to a paper mill to be recycled into household products such as tissues and toilet rolls helping you support your sustainability goals.
Mobile shredding offers more than just convenience - it’s a secure, compliant, and environmentally responsible way to dispose of confidential documents.
