Cookie Policy

Last Updated: November 5, 2026

This policy ("Cookie Policy") is issued by the WM group, which includes Stericycle, Inc. and its affiliates, (referred to ‎as "STERICYCLE", "we", "us" or "our"), including Waste Management Service Center, Inc. and its affiliates and provides information on how we use ‎cookies and similar technologies on our websites ("STERICYCLE-Websites"). The ‎information set out in this Cookie Policy is in addition to our Privacy Notice, which ‎provides comprehensive information about your rights and how we use your personal data both on the ‎STERICYCLE websites and offline. You can read our Privacy Notice; and if you require ‎further information on how we collect, process, and use personal data, please ‎contact StericycleDataProtection@wm.com.

Please read this Cookie Policy carefully for more details about the information ‎we collect when using our websites and where we use cookies.  ‎

If you have any questions regarding the below, please contact us ‎at: StericycleDataProtection@wm.com.  ‎

This Cookie Policy sets out:‎

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files, and/or similar identifiers and technologies, that may be stored on or accessed from your browser or device when you visit the STERICYCLE Websites. A cookie may send information to the party that placed it or to another party identified in the relevant configuration. Information may include a cookie or advertising ID, IP address, device or browser information, pages viewed, interactions, preferences and other technical or usage data. Depending on what is collected and how it is combined, this information may constitute personal data under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR or other applicable data protection law.

An overview of the cookies we use on the STERICYCLE-Websites

First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

Our STERICYCLE-Websites may place first-party cookies and allow third parties to ‎place cookies on your device. The difference between a first-party cookie and a third-‎party cookie relates to the control of the party who places the cookie. First-party ‎cookies are cookies that are specific to the website that created them. Their use ‎enables us to operate an efficient service and to track the patterns of behavior of ‎website users. Third-party cookies, on the other hand, are placed on your device by a ‎third party (i.e., not by STERICYCLE). While we may allow third parties access to the ‎STERICYCLE-Websites to place these cookies on your devices, we do not retain ‎control over the information supplied by the cookies, nor do we retain access to that ‎data. This information is controlled wholly by that third party in accordance with their ‎respective privacy policy.‎

Session and Persistent Cookies

Our STERICYCLE-Websites may place session and persistent cookies on your device. ‎Whereas the difference between a first-party and third-party cookie relates to the party ‎controlling the initial placement of the cookie on your device, the difference between a ‎session and a persistent cookie relates to the length of time the cookie lasts. Session ‎cookies are cookies that typically last for as long as you are using your browser, or ‎browser session. When you end your browser session, the cookie expires. Persistent ‎cookies, as the name implies, are persistent and will last after you close your browser ‎session. This allows for quicker and often more convenient access to our websites.‎ The session or persistent status and actual duration of each cookie or similar technology are set out or marked for confirmation in the table below.

Clear GIFs/Web Beacons

Clear GIFs (also known as web beacons), pixels and similar technologies may be transparent or small images or code that operate with cookies or independently. They may be included in our services provided via our STERICYCLE-Websites and may identify users and user behavior. Where session replay or similar technologies are used, they may record interactions with our STERICYCLE-Websites, including mouse movements, clicks, text and other information associated with a visit. Non-essential technologies will not be used before consent where consent is required by applicable law. The relevant technology, provider, purpose, information and duration are set out or marked for confirmation in the table below.

How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies

Subject to applicable law and your Cookie Preference Centre choices, we may use cookies and collected information to: (i) personalize our STERICYCLE-Websites and the services provided via our STERICYCLE-Websites, such as remembering your information so that you will not have to re-enter it when using our STERICYCLE-Websites and the services provided via our STERICYCLE-Websites; (ii) provide customized advertisements, content, and information; (iii) monitor and analyze the effectiveness of our STERICYCLE-Websites and the services provided via our STERICYCLE-Websites and third-party marketing activities; (iv) monitor aggregate site usage metrics such as total number of visitors and pages viewed; and (v) track your entries, submissions, and status in promotions or other activities offered through our STERICYCLE-Websites and the services provided. We will not place or access or activate non-essential cookies or similar technologies before we have obtained your consent, where required by applicable laws.

The use of cookies also helps us manage and improve the usability of the STERICYCLE-Websites by (i) detecting whether there has been any contact between your computer and us in the past; and (ii) identifying areas of interest related to our STERICYCLE-Websites.

Please refer to the following cookie table regarding the use of cookies on our STERICYCLE-Websites:

Analytics

Where enabled, and only after any consent required by applicable law we use analytics tools, including Google Analytics 4 ("GA4"), provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) only where permitted by applicable law and, where required, after obtaining your consent,  to understand how visitors interact with STERICYCLE-Websites and to help us improve their performance, functionality and user experience. GA4 uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information about how visitors use STERICYCLE-Websites, such as information about pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on pages, device and browser information, and approximate location information derived from IP addresses. We use this information to generate aggregated reports and insights regarding website usage and performance.

Google may process information collected through GA4 in accordance with its privacy documentation. For further information about how Google uses information collected through Google Analytics, please visit https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can learn more about Google Analytics by visiting Google Analytics Help. You may withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time through the Cookie Preference Centre. In addition, Google provides a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on which may be used to limit Google Analytics tracking.

Cross-Device Tracking

Where enabled, and only after any consent required by applicable law, we and our third-party providers may use the information we collect about you within STERICYCLE-Websites and on other third-party websites and services, to help us and these third parties identify other devices that you use (e.g., a mobile phone, tablet, other computer, etc.) to interact or engage with us or STERICYCLE-Websites.

Advertising Networks

Where enabled, and only after any consent required by applicable law, we work with ad networks, channel partners, mobile ad networks, analytics and measurement services, and others (“ad networks”) to personalize content, as well as to manage our advertising on third-party websites, mobile apps and online services. We may share certain information with ad networks, and we may each use cookies, pixels tags, and other tools to collect usage and browsing information within STERICYCLE-Websites, as well as on third-party websites, apps, and services. This information may include IP address, location information, cookie and advertising IDs, and other identifiers, as well as browsing information. See the table above for more information.

Custom Lists and Matching

Where enabled, and only after any consent required by applicable law, we may share or make available certain customer list information (such as your name, email address and other contact information) with ad networks, social media platforms, and other providers so that we can better target ads and content to you across third party sites, platforms and services. In some cases, these parties may help us to enhance our customer lists with additional demographic or other information so we can better target our advertising and marketing campaigns and create lookalike audiences to help us identify potential new customers.

Do-Not-Track

Currently, STERICYCLE-Websites do not recognize web browser “Do-Not-Track” requests. You may, however, disable certain tracking as discussed below (e.g., by disabling cookies).

Managing your cookie settings

When visiting STERICYCLE-Websites that use cookies, we will ask you for your ‎consent before storing information on, or accessing information from, your device through non-essential cookies or similar technologies to the extent that this is required by the ‎laws of your location. The cookie used to record your cookie preferences is stored for a maximum of six (6) months, after which you will be asked to renew your preferences. We also provide the option to customize your browser settings on ‎the STERICYCLE-Websites. You can choose which cookies you want to accept, reject or manage for our ‎STERICYCLE-Websites by:‎

  • clicking the cookie icon in the bottom left-hand corner of any website page ‎‎(if applicable in your location), which will take you to the Cookie Preference Center; or
  • clicking the "Manage Consent" button on the cookie banner ‎‎(if applicable in your location).

Furthermore, your web browser may provide you with some options regarding cookies. ‎For more detailed information about how to disable or administer your cookie settings in ‎your web browser, please refer to the applicable page for the browser you are using:‎

You can withdraw your consent to optional cookies and similar technologies at any time through the Cookie Preference Centre.
