Manchester-based document destruction company Shred-it is opening its first branch in Wales.
The Canadian firm, which has its UK corporate headquarters in Manchester across two locations in Trafford Park and Sale, currently operates a network of 16 UK branches, but its latest at Village Farm Industrial Estate near Bridgend is its first in the principality. The firm said that 10 jobs would be created as a result of the branch opening.
"Our new Bridgend branch will enable us to enhance our local service to both new and existing clients in the region," said the firm's executive vice-president, Robert Guice. "The opening of new branches across the UK also forms an important part of Shred-it's plan to build on the sustained growth achieved last year."
During 2009, Shred-it saw total sales turnover exceed £23 million nationwide between January and October, an increase of 15 per cent on sales turnover during the corresponding period in 2008.
