A Manchester-based shredding firm has announced a sales turnover of more than £3.1m.
Shred-it Manchester saw a turnover which exceeded £3.1 million between January and July this year. The figures represent an increase of 22% on the same period in 2008.
Shred-it, which has its UK headquarters in Manchester across two locations in Trafford Park and Sale, currently operates a network of 15 branches nationwide with more than £21m of annualised revenues.
The continued success of the Manchester branch, which achieved an 18% year-on-year growth and accomplished turnover of £4.3 million at the end of 2008, follows a string of new client wins during 2009.
The branch has also just won a three-year framework agreement to become the preferred provider of on-site document destruction services for the North West region's NHS and Primary Care Trusts.
And it has taken on 17 new staff since the beginning of the year, with plans to create a significant number of additional new roles this year in the North West and throughout its UK branch locations.
Neil Percy, Customer Service and Operations Manager (UK), at Shred-it Manchester, said: "The phenomenal performance of the Manchester branch reflects the growing awareness and understanding among businesses in the North West of the potential financial and reputational risks posed by the prospect of a security breach in the safe disposal of confidential data."
