Shred-it Opens New Branch in Nottingham

Businesses in Nottingham and throughout the East Midlands will get the opportunity to seize greater control over their disposal of materials containing confidential data, with the opening of a new branch of Shred-it, a leading UK document destruction company, in Nottingham.

 The new branch, which also sees the creation of 18 new jobs, opens for business from today and will occupy 16,500 square feet at Nottingham's Centurion Business Centre.

Rob Briggs, (pictured), the newly appointed General Manager of Shred it in Nottingham, said: "Positioned at the heart of the East Midlands, with excellent transport links and populated by an increasingly diverse range of public and private sector organisations, Nottingham provides the perfect location for our flagship branch in the region."

Shred-it already provides document destruction solutions to almost 2,000 customers throughout the East Midlands, ranging from government agencies to financial and legal institutions. In the past year, Shred-it's customer base within the region has grown by 20 per cent, as businesses have become increasingly conscious of the potential financial and reputational risks posed by the prospect of a breach of confidential data.

Rob Briggs continues: "With more organisations now approaching us daily to seek for help in improving their data security practices, we have expanded our operations in the region to meet this surge in demand."

Shred-it's East Midlands customers, stretching throughout Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, were previously serviced by Shred-it from Manchester but will now be supported by a fleet of eight specially designed shredding trucks and three customer support vans based in Nottingham.
The branch is Shred-it's fifteenth in the UK in just seven years, the first having opened in Manchester in 2002.
