A Cheshire firm specialising in the secure disposal of documentation has revealed that it intends to grow its turnover to £35 million next year.
According to Crain's Manchester Business, Shred-it UK, which is based in Sale, set the ambitious target after enjoying income of £23 million between January and October of 2009.
The Canadian company has forecast a £27 million turnover for 2009, which would be enough to represent its tenth successive year of growth since entering the UK market in 1999.
Robert Guice, executive vice president of the Shred-it UK, told the news provider: "This has been a momentous year for our UK business, which has flourished as public and private sector organisations have grown more aware of the financial and reputational risks associated with breaches in confidential data."
He added that the company intends to open new branches in locations across the UK; something that Shred-It expects to help it offer high levels of local service to an ever-increasing and spread-out customer base.
The firm currently operates more than 140 branches on five different continents and has 150,000 clients.
